Labyrinth exhibition

In 2025 I put on a solo show at CCA Galleries International after winning the Summer Exhibition Prize in 2021. I wanted to evoke a strange, dreamscape version of Jersey as I have been photographing the same subjects the entire time I have lived here, and I eventually realised that I was creating the images even before that (in the camera of my MIND). These images are mostly composites made up of island scenes that have been digitally manipulated; I wanted to recreate the process where places are changed and enhanced when they occur in my dreams. I approached creating this body of work in the same way that I would go about setting out a world for tabletop RPG players, so to that end I also wrote some weird bits of flavour text to be left in the gallery - these are after the images here but I had to upload them as JPGs to this site so they might not be readable on a phone. Unusually I also titled all the work, with titles that related to my often cryptic inspirations for making the images as opposed to what they literally depict.
