Imaginary objects and textures
During the lockdown I began experimenting with machine learning image synthesis, which is a means of using so-called Artificial Intelligence to create images. AI is (perhaps understandably) now a controversial concept in art as a result of text-to-image synthesis apps such as Midjourney and Dall-E. These images were not made the same way - they are generated somewhat laboriously by training an older kind of AI model on sets of my own images that I had to select. I used thousands of very similar images which generated some basic outputs, which I've then worked on in Photoshop. The process also reflects my own habits - I have autism and tend to produce many images of the same subjects.
